Call for Papers

Dear colleagues,

Plans for Poe's 200th Birthday Celebration are underway! An International Edgar Allan Poe Conference will be held in Albacete, February 3-6, 2009, at the Facultad de Humanidades ( www.uclm.es ). Full-length papers related to any aspect of Poe's work, contexts, life, and/or influence are invited. Authors should feel free to interpret the theme broadly, since it would be impractical to attempt to address or even to list all conceivable topics about Poe.

The official languages of the Conference will be English and Spanish.

Full-length papers for a 20-minutes presentation (2500 words) should reach both the organizers by 19 September 2008 . They can be delivered in either language. Submissions will be refereed through a double-blind review process. Acceptance will be notified around October 31. Papers accepted for presentation will be published in a commemorative volume.

Email these papers along with a brief abstract to Margarita Rigal at Margarita.Rigal@uclm.es and Beatriz González at Beatriz.Gonzalez@uclm.es . Please include the words, "Bicentennial Poe," in your email subject.
