ABSTRACT |
In this paper we analyze a sample of twenty randomly selected
Book Reviews (BRs) taken from two leading Philology journals published
in Spain in the last seven years, La Revista de Filología Española (RFE)
and Atlantis. Our aim is to discover, on the one hand,
whether BRs in the field of Philology follow the same rhetorical
structure proposed by Motta Roth (1996) for other disciplines in
English. And, on the other, to investigate to what extent the BRs
written by authors publishing in a Spanish journal like Atlantis
differ from those published by their colleagues who address a Spanish
readership. Our assumption is that their rhetorical structure could
present differences due to the influence of English on the writers for
Atlantis.
