Juan Andrés Jurado Torresquesana, Phonological Evolution from Indo-European to Modern English. The Fundamentals for Practice , Salamanca: Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca, 2006

This book is intended to be a helpful practice book for those students who need to learn about the development from OE sounds to MnE ones. It is divided in three main sections, which are not exactly chapters. In the first part there is a general overview of linguistic change, giving some examples and getting the student familiar with the terminology used. The second one deals with the most relevant changes which took place from Indo-European times to the Old English period; and finally, the third one discusses some of the most important changes which took place in OE, ME and MnE. The different types of changes are exemplified and also some exercises for further practice are provided. All these exercises are accompanied by a key with the solutions on Appendix 1.
